My re-re-reimergence

Inspired by a comment left here last night, I have decided to come back and post my picks.

Cavs +1.5 - 1 unit

San Antonio / Cleveland UNDER 179.5 - 3 units

Love the under play here. This game may easily end up in the 150-160's. Ugly ugly basketball. The Spurs ran it up and down the court in game 2. They will not do that again tonight. Expect a lot of "run the clock down to 4 seconds" plays by both teams. Cleveland cannot run up and down the court.

Cleveland looks like crap, they are crappy and will be for some time now. This is the deal though. I cannot tell you how many times though that the home team wins game 3 in this spot. Oh wait, I have the internet and I can look it up and tell you.

All time NBA Final History, 19 times a team has gone down 0-2 on the road, and 15 of them came home to win game 3. Since the 2-3-2 format, 10 times a team has gone down 0-2 on the road, and 7 of them came home to win game 3 at home. 7 out of 10, 15 out of 19.

Remember game 3 of the Jazz/Spurs. First two games the Spurs dominated, then game 3 they lost by 26 on the road. Cleveland was down 0-2 coming back from Detroit and won game 3. If I remember correctly, in both cases the lines were verrrrry similar to this, with the home team being a slight dog.

Lebron got two quick fouls early in game 2, so expect something similar to happen tonight to the Spurs. Lebron will probably score 30-40 tonight, with nearly half of them coming at the line. The NBA wants to showcase him, they want this series to go as long as possible.

Sports Betting picks for Monday May 21

That was pretty close to a +8 unit day yesterday, about 47 seconds away from it. I turned off the TV and went and had dinner with the family with the Wings on the powerplay, winning 1-0, and less then 3 minutes left in the game. Turned it back on in OT just in time to see Selanne score the game winner. So an 8 unit night turned a 5.5 unit one.

Sunday nights this time of year can be kind of rough. No late Basketball, no late hockey, one baseball game. I wanted to keep the streak alive, so I fired up some $15 sit-n-go tournaments at PokerStars and raked in another $100. Streak lives.

After a rocky start in the NBA playoffs, I now have hit 11 out of my last 14 games for a profit of 10.7 units. Tonight we have the Pistons playing the Cavs. Opening Over/Under line: 176? Expect to see an ugly as hell basketball game tonight. I can't remember the time I saw a line that low. I expect the Pistons to take care of business at home tonight. They usually start off strong in game 1's, then get full of themselves by the end of game 2. No reason to see this change tonight. Pistons by 15, and the total will squeek into the 180's.

Only 8 games tonight in baseball, instead of the normal 15. Only see one game worth playing, as all the other lines look pretty tight tonight.

Picks for Friday night

Big game tonight for New Jersey. I really expect them to just utterly dominate the game. Both point guards for Toronto are banged up, this is gonna get ugly. I am writing down 188 over, but I am guessing you will be able to get it a point or 2 lower around tip off.

Results from yesterday and some record keeping updates

What a game last night for Golden State. I was waiting the whole third quarter for Dallas to wake up or for the refs to take the call from David Stern to make it happen, but it never did. What a good story for the NBA. This should be an interesting ride. The Warriors can beat anyone in the playoffs. If Baron Davis and Steven Jackson can keep their cool and grow up a little, I like their chances. Maybe I should send them one of my PokerStars stress dice or something.

4-2 last night, +1.89 units.

NBA

Utah -4.5
Houston/Utah under 184

Dallas -2
Mavs/Golden State under 208

Thursday night

Man, gotta run out the door for the night but still wanted to get my games up. Here's what I am looking at for tonight.

NBA
Jazz -4.5
Rockets/Jazz under 184
Dallas -2
Dallas/Golden State under 208

MLB
Indians -150
Twins -101

Good luck tonight.

Wierd night with 3 pushes

If it wasn't for a last second goal by Detroit and a 30 point half by Denver, this could have been a really nice night. Instead, it turns into a weird 2-1-3 night, for +0.9 units

Basketball - Lakers +10.5-winner

Lakers/Suns over 209 - winner

Denver/San Antonio over 189.5 – loser – was under all 5 games of series - only 30 points were scored in the 3rd quarter, and Denver only scored 30 all half.

Baseball - Yankees/Texas over 10.5 – Suspended

Hockey - San Jose/Detroit under 5 – push – Go Wings – goal with less then 20 seconds left to tie, and won it in overtime. Course if they would not have scored, this was a winner.

New Jersey/Ottawa under 5 - push

I have not had time to come post in here the last few days. I have a few different projects I just started up that have taken a lot of my time. But, things are starting to get back on track, so I plan on daily updates to happen again like they were previously.

I had a few different baseball systems that I started tracking here that I am continuing to track. If you are interested, check out baseball-systems.com for my run line baseball system. If you look at the right hand side of that page, you will see "Other Baseball Systems" with links to all the other systems as well. Last night was a good night, as the money line baseball system went 4-1 while the over/under baseball system went 2-0-1.

I'll be back...

NBA PLAYOFFS DAY 7 Highlights

NBA Playoffs Day 7

Was looking like a good night last night and turned south pretty quickly. Suns up 11-0 to start the game only to give it all back and then some, losing by 6.

I was lucky enough to get on the early games, and took Miami and NJ. Obviously I cannot and will not count them in the records, but still shaping up to be a nice night. Only one game left, Warriors at home against the Mavericks.

If everythings follow the NBA playoff script, then I would favor the Warriors to win this game, lose game 4 and 5, win game 6, and lose game 7. But they did what they did and showed up the refs, which is not good. It will be interesting to see if the refs handcuff one of the Warriors key players with a couple of quick fouls in the first quarter. It is going to be hostile there. The Warriors have been good to me all year, and they are going to be fired up and especially motivated to win this one. The refs will keep this one close. I am taking the Warriors +4 and Warriors +164 ML

NBA Basketball Playoff - Day 6

Well, I normally am not one to vent - but here it goes. If you watched that Dallas/Golden State game last night, you saw the essence of what I call "home cookin". It smelled real good if you had Dallas last night, like a Thanksgiving feast. Baron Davis tossed from the game, Steven Jackson tossed from the game. Free throws shot in the game - 43 Dallas - 27 Golden State, with 8 of Golden States free throw attempts in the last 4 minutes with game out of reach. To make matters worse, they called a phantom foul with 7 seconds left in the game with the total at 209, and the 12th man from the Warriors buried two free throws to take the game over the total. I can usually sniff out the home cookin prior to the game, and this one I thought was gonna happen late in the 4th and Dallas would squeak by with a win.

Tonight we have 3 more games:

NBA playoff record 8-6-1, +1.2 units
NBA 2007 record 93-54-2, +53.0 units
Tonights plays:
Utah -2 first half
Utah/Houston under 93 first half
Detroit/Orlando over 183
Suns -180 ML

Utah -4.5 vs Houston - Houston has won and covered both games in the series. This should be a close game till the end. I don't like the way Utah has played during the last half of the season. But, I do think that they will step it up right out of the box, and both teams will play tight for the first half. I am taking Utah -2 first half and under 93 first half.

Detroit -2.5 at Orlando - Detroit notoriously cannot sweep anyone. They have dominated this series until late in the 4th of each game, giving Orlando back to back covers. They have won all 6 games against the Magic this year. With the line this low, it makes me think something is up. I am playing over 183 on this one, as the Magic usually come out guns blazing in big games this year.

Suns -4 against the Lakers - Again, here we have just an utter mismatch, but this game will probably close until the end of the game. The number scares me, and I cannot bet on the Lakers. Fuuny that I would probably take the Suns if the line was -5.5 or -6. I will take the Suns on the Money Line as I think that they are the superior team here. Suns -180 ML.

Yesterdays results - 3-4, -1.4 units -
Golden State +9.5 BEST BET - loser
San Antonio -8.5 - winner
Cleveland -11.5 - loser
Golden State/Dallas Under 209.5 - loser (total was 211, 2 FTs with 7 seconds left)

San Antonio/Denver Under 193.5 - Winner
San Antonio/Denver Under 98 first half - Winner

Cleveland/Washington under 186 - Loser(73 points scored in the 4th quarter, more then both teams scored in the first and third quarter combined)

Last nights highlights - Day 5
